Itinerary Summary

Day 01: 
 Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa - Laguna Humantay.
Departure from Cusco toward Soraypampa and hike to Laguna Humantay. Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02: 
 Soraypampa - Abra de Salkantay - Chaullay.
Hike to the highest point of the route, Abra Salkantay, with views of the snow-capped mountains. Descent to Chaullay for an overnight stay.
Day 03: 
 Chaullay - Lucmabamba - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes.
Transfer to Lucmabamba and hike through subtropical valleys to the hydroelectric plant. Continue on to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 04: 
 Aguas Calientes - Chachabamba - Wiñaywayna.
Hike along the section at Km 104, visiting Chachabamba, Wiñaywayna, and Inti Punku, with views of Machu Picchu. Return to Aguas Calientes.
Day 05: 
 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo - Cusco.
Guided tour of Machu Picchu. Afterward, return by train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.

Day 01
Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa - Laguna Humantay.

TRAIL TO HUMANTAY LAKE

Today we travel to Soraypampa, making a stop in Mollepata for breakfast. Then, we continue to the starting point of our hike, surrounded by mountains and snow-capped peaks. Upon reaching Humantay Lake, we will enjoy its turquoise waters and the stunning glacier. After taking photos and having lunch, we will descend to Soraypampa to camp.

Day 02

CLIMB TO THE SUMMIT OF SALKANTAY

Today, we will start our hike through the Salkantay Pass, then ascend to Salkantay Peak, where we will witness various mountains and snow-capped peaks. After exploring the area, we will descend to have lunch in Wayracmachay and finally continue to Chaullay, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

HIKE TO ÁGUAS CALIENTES

Today, we will take transport to Lucmabamba, from where we will hike to Llactapata for lunch. Then, we will descend toward Hidroeléctrica, walking past various coffee, banana, and avocado plantations before finally reaching Aguas Calientes.

Day 04

HIKE TO WIÑAYWAYNA

Today, we will start by walking along the railway to Km 104, where our trail begins with a visit to Chachabamba. Gradually, we will ascend to Wiñaywayna and finally reach Inti Punku, from where we will have our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. After capturing unforgettable memories, we will descend to the Guardian's House and take the bus to Aguas Calientes.

Day 05
Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo - Cusco.

Visit to Machu Picchu

Today, we will take the bus to Machu Picchu, where we will have a guided tour to explore the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Condor, the Intihuatana, and much more. After admiring the blend of nature and history, we will descend to Aguas Calientes to board the train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus ride back to Cusco.

The itinerary begins in Cusco with a visit to Humantay Lake and an overnight stay in Soraypampa. It then continues through Salkantay Pass to Chaullay, followed by Lucmabamba, Llactapata, and the Hydroelectric Station before reaching Aguas Calientes. The tour ends with a guided visit to Machu Picchu and the return to Cusco.

The maximum altitude of the trek is approximately 4,600 meters at Salkantay Pass, the highest point and one of the most impressive moments of the route.

The difficulty level is moderate. The hike requires good physical condition, especially on the second day, when the route crosses Salkantay Pass. It is recommended to acclimatize in Cusco before beginning the trek.

The package includes 2 nights of camping along the trekking route and 1 night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes, a town located near Machu Picchu.

Meals are included according to the program. The itinerary includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the first days, as well as breakfast and lunch on the final day before returning to Cusco.

Yes. On the fourth day, the group travels up to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the Inca citadel, visiting its main areas, agricultural terraces, plazas, passageways, and viewpoints.
