Dare to conquer the Rainbow Mountain, a challenge you must experience at least once in your lifetime. Along the way, we will be accompanied by majestic snow-capped peaks, see locals herding their llamas and alpacas, and witness travelers being transported on horseback.
The final ascent is the greatest challenge of the entire journey, but once you reach the summit, the effort is worth it: Vinicunca unveils its full splendor of colors, with a backdrop of red-hued mountains and snowy peaks. An unforgettable experience!
We will depart very early, making our first stop in Cusipata for breakfast before continuing to Chillihuani, where we will begin our journey surrounded by mountains.
Along the way, we will encounter llamas and alpacas. Once at the summit, the landscape rewards us with a colorful panorama, ranging from light green to deep red (a true rainbow). After exploring the area, we will descend through the Red Valley, have lunch, and return to Cusco.

The Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca, is located in the Vilcanota mountain range, near the majestic Ausangate snow-capped mountain, in the Cusco region of Peru.
The hike is considered moderately challenging. The biggest challenge is the altitude (reaching up to 5,200 meters above sea level) and the final ascent to the summit. However, the trail is well-marked and can be completed at a steady pace while enjoying the scenery of llamas and alpacas.
This is a full-day tour. The day begins very early (around 4:00 AM) and ends at approximately 5:00 PM. The total hiking time varies between 3 and 4 hours (round trip), depending on your physical condition and whether you choose to include the visit to Red Valley.
