CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

This Cancellation and Refund Policy sets out the general conditions applicable to travel and tourism services booked with Illapa Culturas Andinas.

As each service may be subject to different operating conditions, availability, and supplier policies, specific cancellation and refund conditions may vary depending on the booking.

Where special conditions apply to a particular service, these will be communicated to the passenger prior to confirmation.

1. Cancellation Requests

Any cancellation request must be communicated to Illapa Culturas Andinas through one of its official communication channels.

For evaluation purposes, the cancellation date may be considered to be the date on which the company receives the corresponding request.

Passengers are advised to submit any cancellation request as far in advance as possible.

2. Cancellation Conditions

The conditions applicable to a cancellation may depend on factors such as:

  • The type of service booked.
  • The date on which the cancellation is requested.
  • The time remaining before the service begins.
  • Services already confirmed or issued.
  • Conditions established by suppliers.
  • Expenses already incurred in managing the booking.
  • The existence of non-refundable services.

For this reason, this policy does not establish a single cancellation penalty applicable to all bookings.

Each cancellation request will be assessed according to the conditions applicable to the service booked.

3. Non-Refundable Services

Certain tourism services may be subject to non-refundable conditions once they have been booked, confirmed, issued, or paid for.

Depending on the applicable conditions, these may include:

  • Admission tickets to tourist attractions.
  • Train tickets.
  • Airline tickets.
  • Certain accommodation bookings.
  • Special permits.
  • Services subject to limited availability.
  • Special activities.
  • Other services contracted through third parties.

Where a service is subject to a specific non-refundable condition, the passenger will be informed when applicable.

4. Refunds

Where a cancellation gives rise to a right to a refund, Illapa Culturas Andinas will assess the corresponding amount taking into consideration:

  • Services not used.
  • Amounts recoverable from suppliers.
  • Expenses already incurred.
  • The specific conditions of the booking.
  • Non-refundable services.
  • Applicable legal provisions.

The final refundable amount, where applicable, will be communicated to the passenger.

5. Refund Procedure

When a refund is approved, Illapa Culturas Andinas will inform the passenger of the applicable procedure.

The refund may be made through the same payment method originally used or through another appropriate method depending on the circumstances.

Processing times may vary depending on:

  • The financial institution.
  • The card used.
  • The payment platform.
  • The supplier involved.
  • The type of transaction.

Processing times applied directly by banks, card issuers, or external payment platforms are not exclusively controlled by Illapa Culturas Andinas.

6. Fees and Related Expenses

Certain transactions may generate banking, financial, administrative, or processing fees.

Where such expenses are non-recoverable and may legally be taken into account, they may be considered when determining the final amount of a refund.

Any relevant deduction will be communicated to the passenger.

7. Partial Cancellation of Services

If a passenger requests the cancellation of only part of the services included in a booking, the request will be assessed according to the conditions applicable to those services.

A partial cancellation may result in changes to:

  • The total price of the travel programme.
  • The conditions applicable to other services.
  • Availability.
  • The rate originally quoted.

Where applicable, such changes will be communicated before the modification is confirmed.

8. Changes Instead of Cancellation

Where possible, a passenger may request a modification to the booking instead of cancelling it.

Any modification will be subject to:

  • Availability.
  • Supplier conditions.
  • Fare or rate differences.
  • Additional costs.
  • Restrictions applicable to the service.

Illapa Culturas Andinas will inform the passenger of the available options before proceeding.

9. No-Show

A passenger may be considered a No-Show if they fail to attend a confirmed service at the established date, time, or meeting point without having previously communicated a cancellation or modification.

Services not used due to a No-Show may be subject to non-refundable conditions.

The application of such conditions will depend on the service booked and the particular circumstances of the case.

10. Unused Services During the Trip

If a passenger voluntarily decides not to use a service included in a booking after the trip has already begun, this will not automatically result in a right to a refund.

It will be assessed whether the service:

  • Has already been booked.
  • Has already been paid for.
  • Was made available to the passenger.
  • Can be cancelled or recovered from the supplier.

Each situation will be assessed individually.

11. Cancellations by Suppliers

In certain circumstances, a supplier may modify, suspend, or cancel a service for operational, safety, availability, or other reasons.

When this occurs, Illapa Culturas Andinas will seek to inform the passenger and assess, where appropriate:

  • An available alternative.
  • Rescheduling.
  • A credit.
  • A refund for the affected service.
  • Another reasonable solution.

The applicable alternative will depend on the supplier's conditions, the affected service, and applicable legislation.

12. Circumstances Beyond the Company's Control

Travel services may be affected by extraordinary or unforeseen circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Illapa Culturas Andinas, including:

  • Natural events or disasters.
  • Severe weather conditions.
  • Road closures.
  • Strikes.
  • Civil unrest.
  • Government restrictions.
  • Closure of tourist attractions.
  • Transport disruptions.
  • Flight or train cancellations.
  • Public health situations.
  • Border closures.
  • Other circumstances that prevent or affect the normal provision of services.

In such cases, passenger safety will be given priority and reasonable alternatives will be assessed.

The availability of a refund, credit, rescheduling, or any additional cost will depend on the specific circumstances, the services affected, recoverable amounts, and applicable legislation.

13. Cancellation by Illapa Culturas Andinas

If Illapa Culturas Andinas is unable to provide a confirmed service for a reason directly attributable to the company, the appropriate alternatives will be assessed according to the characteristics of the service and applicable legislation.

These may include, depending on the circumstances:

  • Rescheduling.
  • Replacement with an equivalent service.
  • A credit.
  • Refund of the amount corresponding to the affected service.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights granted to consumers under Peruvian law.

14. Refund Requests

Any refund request must be submitted through the official communication channels of Illapa Culturas Andinas.

The company may request the information reasonably necessary to identify the booking and assess the request.

Submitting a refund request does not automatically mean that the refund has been approved.

Each case will be reviewed in accordance with the conditions of the booking and applicable legislation.

15. Specific Conditions

Certain travel programmes, promotions, special rates, or services may be subject to specific cancellation or refund conditions.

Where specific conditions apply, these will be communicated to the passenger before the corresponding booking is confirmed.

If a specific condition has previously been communicated and accepted for a particular service, it will apply together with this policy, always subject to applicable law.

16. Consumer Rights

This Cancellation and Refund Policy will be applied in accordance with applicable Peruvian consumer protection legislation.

Nothing in this policy shall be interpreted as a waiver or limitation of any rights legally granted to the passenger.

17. Relationship with Other Policies

This policy should be read together with:

  • Our Terms and Conditions.
  • Our Booking Policy.
  • Our Advance Payment Policy.
  • Any specific conditions communicated for a particular service, where applicable.

18. Changes to this Policy

Illapa Culturas Andinas may update this Cancellation and Refund Policy when necessary.

The current version will remain available on this website.

Changes will not retroactively alter conditions previously accepted for a confirmed booking, except where agreed with the passenger or where required or permitted by applicable law.
