This trip offers the opportunity to explore the most iconic destinations in Peru, starting in Lima and continuing to the city of Arequipa and the impressive Colca Canyon. We will then visit Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world, along with its traditional islands, and finish in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire.
In the morning, you will take a flight to Arequipa, where you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will begin exploring the city, visiting the Carmen Alto viewpoint to enjoy views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. You will also visit Yanahuara, famous for its sillar arches, and the Santa Catalina Monastery.
Next, you will tour the Main Square, the Minor Basilica, and the Church of the Society of Jesus. As an optional visit, you can explore the Andean Sanctuary Museum, which displays pre-Inca and Inca artifacts, including the famous "Juanita" mummy.
Lima (50 m) - Arequipa (2330 m)
In the morning, we will be picked up from the hotel and head to Chivay, home to one of the deepest canyons in the world. Along the way, we will visit Pampas Cañahuas, a national reserve that hosts migratory birds, and make a stop at the Volcano Viewpoint at 4950 meters above sea level to admire the Western Mountain Range and the Ampato and Hualca Hualca volcanoes.
Upon arrival in Chivay, we will transfer to the hotel. As an optional service, you can enjoy the "La Calera" hot springs (additional cost).
Arequipa (2330 m) - Volcano Viewpoint (4950 m) - Chivay (3600 m)
We will begin the day by visiting the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to observe the condors and the majestic canyon. On our way back, we will explore the towns of Yanque, Coporaque, and Achoma, which maintain their Incan traditions.
In Maca, we will visit its church and cobblestone streets before returning to Chivay for lunch and then continuing on to Puno, where you will be transferred to your hotel.
Chivay (3600 m) - Cruz del Cóndor (3800 m) - Chivay - Puno (3850 m)
Today, we will explore Lake Titicaca, starting with the Uros floating islands, where the inhabitants live in a unique way, using totora reeds. Next, we will visit Taquile Island, known for its tradition of weaving and its community life based on Incan principles.
After lunch, we will learn about their customs and enjoy panoramic views of the lake, Puno, Bolivia, and the Altiplano. In the afternoon, we will return to Puno.
Puno (3850 m) - Uros Islands (3850 m) - Taquile Island (4050 m) - Puno
In the morning, we will head to Cusco, passing through the Collao Plateau with our first stop in Pucará, known for its "Toritos de Pucará" (Pucará bulls), while enjoying the landscape and wildlife of the Altiplano. Next, we will visit Raqchi, an important pre-Inca religious site.
In Andahuaylillas, we will admire the San Pedro Church, famous for its impressive ornamentation. Finally, we will arrive in Cusco and transfer to the hotel.
Puno (3850 m) - Abra de La Raya (4350 m) – Cusco (3330 m)
You will have the morning free to explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, we will visit the Cusco Cathedral and the Qoricancha, the ancient Temple of the Sun and a major Inca religious center.
Next, we will explore the archaeological sites of Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Q'enqo, and Sacsayhuamán, known for their impressive stone structures. Finally, we will return to Cusco.
Cusco (3330 m) - Sacsayhuamán (3700 m) - Cusco
This day, we will explore the Sacred Valley, starting in Pisac with its Inca citadel and traditional market. Then, we will travel to Urubamba for lunch and continue to Ollantaytambo, where the Sun Temple and its enormous monoliths stand out.
At the end of the day, we will head to the train station for the journey to Aguas Calientes, where you will be transferred to your hotel.
Cusco (3300 m) - Pisac (2950 m) - Ollantaytambo (2800 m) - Aguas Calientes (2000 m)
After breakfast, we will take a bus to Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world, for a 2-hour guided tour, exploring its main areas. You will have free time to explore further and, optionally, hike up Huayna Picchu Mountain.
In the afternoon, we will return to Aguas Calientes, take the train to Ollantaytambo, and then head to Cusco, where you will be transferred to your hotel.
Aguas Calientes (2000 m) - Machu Picchu (2400 m) - Poroy (3570 m) - Cusco
Today, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport to catch your flight to Lima and from there, your international flight back home.
