A day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas will be impressive, as it is surrounded by mountains and features farmland, villages, and a river. It was the main agricultural center during the Inca Empire and is home to many archaeological sites. Today, it is one of the most visited tourist destinations.
Day 1: Cusco - Maras - Moray - Cusco
In the morning, we will explore another part of the Sacred Valley, with a stop to admire the Urubamba mountain range and the peaks of "La Verónica" and "El Chikon." Then, we will head to Moray, a unique archaeological site with large depressions used to create advanced agricultural terraces.
Afterward, we will visit the Maras Salt Mines, where around 4,500 salt ponds are filled with saline water from a spring. This process allows the water to evaporate, leading to the crystallization of salt, which is then crushed and granulated for collection.
Finally, we will return to Cusco after this visit to the Sacred Valley.
