This 5-day tour in Puno allows us to explore many places, including its main tourist attractions such as the Plaza de Armas and the San Juan Temple, a Cultural Heritage of the Nation. You'll also visit Lake Titicaca, located at 3,825 meters above sea level, which is home to several Peruvian islands like Amantaní, Taquile, Tikonata, Suasi, Soto, Anapia, and the floating islands of the Uros.
Upon arriving at Juliaca Airport, we will transfer you to your hotel in Puno. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Huajsapata Hill to enjoy panoramic views of the city, Puno Bay, and the Capachica and Chucuito peninsulas.
The tour includes stops at the Dreyer Museum, the main square, the cathedral, the Sanctuary of the Candelaria, Pino Park, San Carlos School, and other landmarks that tell the story of the Altiplano and Lake Titicaca. We’ll also visit embroidery workshops and the historic Yavari Ship.
Juliaca (2850 m) – Puno (3825 m)
At 7:00 am, we will pick you up to travel to Chucuito, where we will visit the Temple of Fertility and the main square. Then, we’ll continue to Amaru Muru to explore the interdimensional gate, the stone forest, and enjoy a hike to take photos.
At 10:30 am, we will arrive at the Desaguadero border, and after completing border checks, we’ll head to the Tiahuanaco archaeological complex. After lunch, we’ll visit Puma Punku and other highlights of the complex, such as the Gate of the Sun, the Stone Museum, and the pyramids, before returning to Puno at around 6:30 pm.
Puno (3825 m) – Chucuito (3875 m) – Tiahuanaco (3885 m) – Puno
Today, we will explore Lake Titicaca and its islands. We’ll start with the floating Uros Islands, known for their unique lifestyle based on the totora reed, used in their homes and crafts. Then, we’ll head to Amantaní Island, where we’ll walk to the rural houses for our stay.
In Amantaní, we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch, rest, and visit the ceremonial centers of Pachamama and Pachatata. In the evening, we’ll share dinner with local families and participate in folkloric dances, wearing traditional attire of the community.
Puno (3825 m) – Amantaní (4150 m)
In the morning, we will have breakfast with the families in Amantaní, then head to Taquile Island. Upon arrival, we’ll take a 45-minute hike to the main square, where we’ll learn about the island’s traditional lifestyle, rooted in collective work and Inca principles.
On Taquile Island, we’ll enjoy views of the Altiplano and explore their customs. We’ll have lunch there before returning to Puno by boat.
Amantaní Island (4150 m) – Taquile Island (4050 m)
Depending on your flight time, we will head to Juliaca Airport, making a stop at the Sillustani archaeological site. Located at an altitude of 3,840 meters, this pre-Inca cemetery was built by the Qolla civilization in the 12th century. It is surrounded by Lake Umayo and offers spectacular views of the mountains. After the visit, we will continue to the airport for your return flight.
