Venture into Cusco, exploring its streets that tell stories of an ancient and fascinating Incan past. Discover the historic sites of Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and the breathtaking wonder of Machu Picchu, a sanctuary surrounded by lush vegetation and dreamlike landscapes.
We will also delve into the unique Salt Mines of Maras and Moray, as well as the stunning Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake, offering vibrant scenery filled with mountains, snow-capped peaks, and fresh air. Day 1: Lima - Cusco.
Day 2: Cusco (City tour) half-day.
Day 3: Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu.
Day 4: Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco.
Day 5: Cusco - Moray - Maras Salt Mines.
Day 6: Cusco - Rainbow Mountain.
Day 7: Cusco - Lima.
Upon arrival in Cusco, the team will be waiting for us at the airport to take us to the hotel, where we can rest or acclimate to the altitude. If we wish, we can explore the nearby streets and visit some of the city's iconic landmarks.
On this day, we will take a city tour, visiting the Plaza de Armas, Cusco Cathedral, Qoricancha (the Temple of the Sun), and other Inca archaeological sites such as Tambomachay, Puca Pucará, Qenqo, and Sacsayhuamán.
Each of these sites features Inca walls, ceremonial places, stone water fountains, and more. We will also learn about their history and the roles they played in Inca culture.
Today, we will begin our visit to the Sacred Valley, starting with Pisac, where we will explore its archaeological site featuring terraces, Inca tombs, and the artisan market, where we will find many local products.
We will continue to Urubamba for lunch, then visit the Ollantaytambo fortress. After that, we will head down to the station to board the train to Aguas Calientes.
Today, we will visit Machu Picchu and take a guided tour through its plazas, houses, agricultural areas, pathways, and observatories. Don't forget to take photos at each of these iconic spots.
After exploring, we will return to Aguas Calientes to board the train to Ollantaytambo and then take a bus back to Cusco.
In the morning, we will begin our tour in Chinchero to learn about wool processing and agriculture. Then, we will head to Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory. After that, we will continue to Maras to visit the salt mines, where we will find viewpoints overlooking more than 4,500 salt pools.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Cusco.
Early in the morning, we will depart for Vinicunca, stopping in Cusipata for breakfast. We will then continue to the starting point of the hike. During the trek, we will see llamas and alpacas native to the area.
Upon reaching the summit, we will enjoy a breathtaking multicolored landscape. After taking in the views, we will descend for lunch before returning to Cusco.
According to our flight schedule, the vehicle will take us to the airport to board the domestic flight, followed by the international flight.
