In accordance with Peruvian government standards RM-112 (8.6.11, 8.7.1, 8.7.2) - 113 (8.3) and RM-448, Tierras de los Andes informs you about the measures implemented to respond to the Covid-19 health crisis and this to ensure the safety of its clients.

The measures are as follows:

1. Mandatory mask use

The use of a mask is mandatory in Peru in public areas and at all times.

  • If you are using a reusable (cloth) mask, it is recommended that it be washed daily after each use.
  • If you are using disposable masks, dispose of them in the appropriate places (trash cans).

Depending on the activities you have booked (cooking lessons, for example), other personal protective equipment (gloves, face shield, etc.) may be required. Your agent will provide you with the necessary information if needed.

2. Taking body temperature

Your body temperature can be taken at any time during your stay. This is usually done when you enter a hotel or tourist site. Your guide will also be allowed to take your temperature at the beginning and end of a tour and at any time if you have symptoms. Your temperature will be reported if it exceeds 38°C.

Please note: if your temperature exceeds 38°C, your entry may be refused.

3. Disinfection of hands, personal items and footwear

During your stay, you must disinfect your shoes (soles) before entering a place (at the entrance of hotels, restaurants, sites and museums, stores, etc.), before boarding a vehicle and when necessary.

You may also be asked to disinfect your personal belongings and crew (luggage) before entering a hotel, from a vehicle and when necessary.

4. Hand Washing

During a global pandemic, one of the cheapest, easiest and most important ways to prevent the spread of a virus is to wash your hands frequently with soap and water. You will be asked to wash your hands every day with soap and water before, during and after a particular activity. You should wash your hands for at least 20-30 seconds. An easy way to time this is to sing the entire happy birthday song; twice. Germs are more easily spread by wet skin than dry skin, so drying your hands completely is an important step. Paper towels or clean cloths are the most effective way to remove germs without spreading them to other surfaces.

5. Physical and social distancing

It will be important to respect social safety distances of at least 01 meter from other people when possible, as well as to respect delimited spaces and avoid urbanized areas.

It is also advisable to avoid greeting your guide or any other person physically, avoid shaking hands.

6. Personal belongings

It is strongly recommended that you do not share your personal belongings with others.

Likewise, it is not recommended to share the same water bottle, food, cutlery, glass, etc. during a meal.

7. Payments

It is advisable to avoid paying in cash and prioritize credit/debit card payments (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).

If you have to handle cash, wash your hands well or disinfect yourself as well as possible.

Therefore, we recommend that you check with your bank your bank limit for the use of your credit / debit card, so as not to find yourself without funds.

8. Pre-existing physical and medical conditions

When you register on the registration form, we will ask you to complete if you have pre-existing physical and/or medical conditions and if you have risk factors such as diabetes, moderate or severe asthma, lung disease, chronic renal failure, etc.

When you arrive in Peru, you will be asked to complete and sign the COVID-19 Symptomatology Form, confirming that you have not been in direct contact with a person infected with COVID-19 and do not have symptoms.

10. Digital Information

Before, during and after your stay, the information necessary for the smooth running of your stay will be provided to you digitally as far as possible (by mail, whatsapp, skype, etc.) to avoid any physical contact and also in the part of our policy to reduce the use of paper.

It will be important to respect the safety instructions mentioned above, as well as to listen carefully and respect the instructions that your guide will inform you on site (in the national parks, archaeological sites, and any other place of visit within your travel itinerary).

Illapa Culturas Andinas reserves the right to refuse attention to any person who does not comply with the established preventive health measures.
