First, we will see the famous Cuarto del Rescate, which in our history is when Francisco Pizarro (Spanish conquistador) arrived and captured the Inca Atahualpa (one of the two brothers heir to the throne). The myth of the story is that Atahualpa, seeing himself prisoner of the Spaniards, promised Pizarro to fill that room - as far as his hand could reach - with gold (once) and twice with silver, in exchange for his liberation.

We will continue to the countryside or foothills of the city, a wonderful countryside site, where we will explore Las Ventanas de Otuzco, an ancient cemetery, which is well preserved. We will return to the city and have lunch in a traditional restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will drive to Leimebamba, along a paved road and enter a new ecological area, from the mountains to the cloud forest. Upon arrival, we will visit the great museum of the mummies (270 of them) and listen to the fascinating stories of the Chachapoyas Culture.
